So, we have a day out of classes and I have been doing nothing but try to figure out something for the smokey posters, and to fix my NAHM posters and so far it has been an epic FAIL! I have some what of a concept for my smokey posters, but can't find and damn photos to go with it. My brain hurts! I hate these posters because it's so hard to come up with something that hasn't been done. For cryin out loud just PUT YOUR CAMP FIRES OUT!!! (Wish that could be my poster). Well I have 5 poster ideas for it, but labeled them all shit, because that's how I feel about them. I am runnin out of ideas and ways of approaching it.
As for the NAHM posters, I have been trying to fix it and find photos that will fit in, but it's so hard. They are either pixelated, or too large. I don't know how to make the image fit my concept. To me I thought it was pretty self explanatory... I mean "A Pledge to Keep Traditions Alive," aka meaning the Native American ways and remembering them hints the photos of the natives and the way they are dressed! This poster stuff is irritating...
And for the booklet, I have spent the past two days bustin my ass on that and am going to give it a break before I start adding/making adjustments to it. I hate it as well. Sorry it's been a long week and midterms are stressful. Hopefully I'll snap out of this terrible designs rut!

SO MANY PROJECTS!
So, lately I have been feel quite overwhelmed with the abundance of projects thrown at us, so I feel my work/ideas just keep getting worse. I'm falling behind tremendously and with midterms coming up, it is quite nerve wrecking.
I have started on the booklet that we have due, but am finding it VERY time consuming! All the text is jumbled up so it is taking me sometime to organize it all. I had an idea for what I was wanting to do to the booklet, but overtime I keep thinking of different things. It's getting so bad that I even had a dream about the damn thing last night! I'm dreading the printing process of it all and I think that's why I keep putting it off so much!
My Native American posters are coming along, but I'm having some issues with the imagery, but am trying to fix it.
I think I FINALLY finished my foods layouts today! Hopefully I'll get the OK soon!
Ugh, well that's all I have for now, because I haven't even began on the Smokey poster yet, now that I found out it's going to be a series. Geez!
Get at ya later!
P.S.
Sorry these aren't put side by side....use your imagination :)

Something New
I haven't blogged in awhile, but I am still catching up on some past projects so I don't have any recent work ready. I am about to start on the three Native American posters and I'm not really sure how I'm going to approach them yet. I was to make it eye catching and I would like to use a variety of color, because natives are very colorful culture, but we are only limited to two colors, so some how I have to try to let the viewer understand that there is a lot of color, by only using two colors. Haha.
I'm also having to redo my foods magazine layouts, which I always struggle with. The "How Safe" layout I would have to say is the most challenging due to the fact that it has such little information it contains so it's hard to fill the negative space.
Our new assignment is the booklet, which in all honesty, I'm DREADING! I hate doing booklets, and this one contains so much information that I'm not sure how I'm going to set it all up and still make it look visually interesting :( ...a challenge that will be waiting for me to tackle this weekend. Wish me luck!

Magazine Layouts
This past week or so we have been given the assignment of the magazine layouts, and in all honesty I hate them. I have been struggling the whole time with constructing an interesting design that will catch the readers eye. I have been trying to imagine my self as the reader and think of the times I've flipped through a magazine and what caught my eye about certain articles. Being limited on number of pictures is somewhat of a challenge, because I know images are what capture my eye in an article. Trying different compositions and set ups of the contents has also been a huge struggle. I hate seeing an article that has an interesting title, but I hate taking the time to read the oversized text in it. So, as the design I've been wanting to make it appear as though it is easy to read, and in all reality not that much to read, but this has been a major, major challenge!
